Last week a friend and I made one of our dreams come true. We set our goals made the plans and through every wall we jumped over and were able to put together a camp for teen girls. This camp was called REAL U CAMP and the focus was on leadership, building self-esteem and authenticity. We had some amazing guest speakers come and help with the focus and goals of the camp. It was truly a fantastic feeling on Friday to say to each other, “We did it!”
What I learned from this camp is that sometimes goals and dreams are not easy to achieve and that there are many times that you just want to say forget it, it is not worth it! I sure wanted to throw in the towel! But I had an amazing partner to share this experience with and she just kept pushing through and all I could do was follow her lead. A good team is really important when you are building something.
Many of our guests for the week, talked about this too. They had obstacles to overcome, many naysayers that always want to ruin their dreams, but perseverance prevails. It is the negative people in our lives that we need to avoid because either they are jealous, or they have never achieved something that their own heart desires.
So what I learned at camp this past week was that goals and dreams do come true, you just have to be willing to push through all the hoops, the walls, and avoid the naysayers. Now the first time you reach your goal it may not look like you imagined so you just change some things and begin again and push through and avoid the naysayers.
I would like to thank all of the wonderful people that made this week possible please check out their websites.
