Most of us work our entire lives to get ahead, to have enough, and to live comfortably. But what are we really trying to accomplish? Do we even know? What is the purpose of getting ahead? Where does it get you in the long run? Maybe more responsibility at work, working more, less time with your family and what are we doing this for? I am a big proponent of living within your means, saving for a rainy day and not trying to keep up with the Joneses. But that is not to say that I don’t try to improve and do better each year each week each day around money and income and savings and self improvement. But where does it stop? When is it enough?
Here is a little exercise that will help you decide, “How Much Is Enough.” Three simple questions..
1. How much money is enough for me?
2. What will it take to make me feel safe, and content?
3. What does the concept of enough look like for me?
Now write your answers in detail. Really envision the ideal picture perfect life and before you have completed it you may realize that “enough” isn’t that difficult to achieve. “Enough” may be right before your eyes.
Please share what “enough” looks like to you.
