For every failure, there’s an alternative course of action. You just have to find it. When you come to a roadblock, take a detour.

January usually represents a fresh start for many. The year has just begun, people say good bye to the old and welcome a fresh new beginning. This may represent a time of resolutions. Many people vow to quit smoking, lose weight, or begin an exercise regime. Everyone usually gets off to a great start, but then something happens. What is it that stops us from achieving our goals we so strongly set out to achieve?
Well it is different for everyone and many people will call it “roadblocks,” something that gets in the way of our goals. Sometimes a road block doesn’t even have to be large and people will consider it a “sign.” Oops I guess it is not my time to do this. A roadblock is not a sign to quit it is a sign to move forward. Change is not always easy and it will cause some roadblocks but a roadblock is usually a sign to move forward.
January is a perfect time to shift your mindset and change the way you think and the way you respond to certain events that may intercept your goals. We all have certain events that will occur that will not be aligned with what we are trying to achieve so what we need to do is change our response to these events. Sounds simple really but many of us practice the definition of insanity. We keep responding the same way, hoping for different results. What I encourage you to do when something is not in alignment with your new resolutions is change your response. Do not do what you normally do, think hard and make another choice. The best thing that could happen is you will get a different result; guaranteed.
