I think we all want to know what our purpose is. Finding out that our existence makes a difference in the world becomes a journey at some point in our lives. I believe we all want to matter and change or create, plan or build or just be something other than a body taking up space. So that is where the question comes in “Why are You HERE?” Why are you reading this what are you searching to find out, to change, to differentiate yourself from all others?
What are you really good at? What is your go to that something that you always do with ease and without a thought?
For me, I knew I was not good in crowds. I am not a good mingler, I actually avoid parties at all costs. But I am really good one on one. I am a really good listener and I actually hear what people are telling me even if they are saying it non- verbally. What is it that you absolutely love to do? Maybe you love to write, maybe it is speaking, maybe you like talking to people and love being the centre of a crowd. What is your absolute most favourite thing to do? Once you truly sit with it I am sure it has something to do with your purpose.
So your homework this week is to sit quietly and ponder what that one thing is that makes you feel whole. Honestly if I am feeling down I know that the best thing for me to do is to engage in a conversation with someone and listen to their stories.
What is that one thing that you love to do? Think on it and let me know. I am sure we can incorporate it into your life so that you feel more alive and empowered every day. I ran a map on a client and her top motivator was creator. Her current job was administrative, the furthest thing away from motivation, so in order for her to up level her own motivation she started refinishing furniture as a hobby. Her creative motivator was engaged and her overall level of happiness and empowerment increased. We honestly just need to know what motivates us and then work on incorporating that into our lives.
